I have been a personal chef cooking for families in the DMV area for over 10 years. I started cooking at the young age of 13 cooking for my family.
When I graduated high school I went on to college and obtained a degree in computer programming. I continued my education and took more classes and received a certificate for web design.
I would continue cooking for my friends and family and realized that my true passion was in the kitchen! With many years of experience with food I knew to be successful as a professional chef I would need to receive a degree in the culinary arts field and that is when I decided to go to Stratford University. Working full time as a restaurant manager and going to school was not easy but eventually was achieved I am proud to say!
When I graduated from Stratford I was immediately hired as a sous chef working for Maplewood Park Place. My job description was supervising the staff, assisting the executive chef with developing menus, handling banquet parties and wine tasting dinners in addition to cooking!
While I continued to work at Maplewood I started working as a personal chef for various people. In 2010 is when I decided to pursue being a personal chef full time and give my business 100 % full focus and that's when Gourmet Chef was established.
I'm blessed to say it's been very successful!
I'm also certified as a food safety manager and instructor through ServSafe.

My passion for cooking started when I was 10 years old. Growing up as a teenager, my favorite books at the li brary were cook books. I loved experimented with different ingredients and putting together flavors for lots of pizzazz.
Besides having over 34 years of cooking many different cuisines I've taken numerous classes to enhance my cooking skills. I am also knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation.
At home you will find me cooking in my own kitchen from home cooked meals, 30 min meals, gourmet meals and lots of baking.
I've been a personal chef for the past six year, doing romantic dinners and dinner parties
in the Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. area.
